Willkommen to the 2026/27 school year at the Kinderschule!
class description
Our community based heritage learning classes are full immersion German programs with an emphasis on project-based learning, where we support the learning journeys of our students by engaging them social-emotionally, as well as by challenging them academically. It is important to us that our students not only learn the language, but also the culture, and become part of our community.
Academically, our program is accredited with the Zentralstelle für Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA), we follow the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), offer the Deutsche Sprachdiplom I to our middle schoolers (and DSD II to our High Schoolers), and offer the National German Exam provided by the AATG. And while we offer and prepare for these exams, students take these on a voluntary basis as it is more important to us that our students enjoy the culture and learning the language than that they excel in any standardized test.
Class placement

If your child(ren) has been enrolled with us in the school year 2025/26, we will place them according to their skills, combined with some attention to their age (mixing of ages will start with the 5-6 year olds). Simply register them here, and you're done.
Meeting times
Class meets every Saturday from 9:15am-12pm. Please check our calendar for days that we are off.
We will have a meet & Greet on Saturday, August 29th, 10-11am.
First Day of Class will be September 12, 2026.

Price
Our school year has 30 sessions, and the whole year costs $1,237 for friends of the DANK Haus (become a friend here!). Generally, if you are signing up more than one child, especially beyond the Krabbelgruppe, the family friend option pays for itself and you will be able to take advantage of all our special offers for our friends throughout the year. For the general public the cost for this class is $1,302/school year.
There is a one time materials & book fee of $45 which will be billed with the first invoice.
ACHTUNG! EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: If you sign up between May 1st and May 31st, the friends of DANK Haus price is $1,206 and the price for the general public is $1,269.
During the registration process you can select whether you would like to pay in one lump sum, or if you prefer to pay in monthly installments. Should you require an alternative payment schedule, please contact kinderschule@dankhaus.com for options.
Sign-up fee
Sign up is free, we will send you an invoice after you have signed up.
Early Bird Pricing runs May 1 - May 31st, 2026.
Regular pricing runs June 1st - July 14th. If you sign up after July 15th, there is a $25 surcharge, if you sign up after August 15th, there is a $50 surcharge.
