Willkommen to our German Summer Classes 2024!

Class Description

Werde mit uns zur Leseratte! This class is meant for those students who have finished at least the Beginner II class (or equivalent), and meets up online every Thursday for a 6-week-period. The inherent grammar and vocabulary as well as the emerging motives of the book will be discussed.

This class runs for 1.5h and covers CEFR Level A1-A2. It will help with your advancement of German language proficiency. This class is tailored for students of the beginner level.

Meeting TImes

This class will meet online on Thursdays, July 3 - August 8, 2024 from 6.30 - 8.00pm

Achtung: The first class will take place on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024, the remainder of the class will meet on Thursdays

You will receive the Zoom Link as well as other information once the start of the class approaches.

PREREQUISITES

You have a beginner knowledge of German or have completed the Beginner II class? Perfect - You're good to go! If in doubt, please refer to the Placement Test or contact us at languageschool@dankhaus.com.

The cost of this class is $113 for members of the DANK Haus and $138 for non-members. Become a member here.

late fee of $30 will be added to the respective price for any registrants enrolling on or after June 20th, 2024.

Minimum Enrollment

There need to be at least 6 students in order for this class to come together. You will receive a confirmation email about this once that minimum is met. 


Material

In this class you will be reading Lenchens Geheimnis by Michael Ende. Michael Ende was a German writer who is known for The Neverending Story ("Die unendliche Geschichte") und Momo. Ende's books often explore themes of imagination, storytelling and the power of dreams. You can order your material hereThis is what the book will be about:

Lenchen is a girl with strict  parents who forbid her many things. Therefore, she instructs her fairy to enchant her parents according to her wishes.
