ERIKA NEUMAYER |  Board Member

Erika Neumayer Ehrat has been a part of the German community in Chicago since the age of 4 and isn’t stopping now. As a member of the American Aid Society of German Descendents, the owner & designer of Rare Dirndl and now a member of the DANK Haus board, Erika is passionate about keeping German culture alive in the city she loves. Her travels and studies abroad to Germany, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Ghana, India, France and Greece have given her a wonderful perspective on cultural dress. Through her business, she has been able to combine all her favorite things: creativity, sewing, German culture and family. With her fresh and modern take on the classic dirndl designs, she has brought a new energy to the dirndl market in America and subsequently to the German community. She currently resides in Lincoln Square with her husband and their newborn son.
