ROSA GALLAGHER | MUSEUM DIRECTOR
Rosa manages the DANK Haus museum collection and develops exhibitions for the DANK galleries. She also works with our invaluable interns, docents, and volunteers to preserve print and material culture so it will be accessible to future visitors. She has an M.A. in Museum Studies from SUNY Oneonta and studied History and German at DePaul University as an undergraduate.
Rosa's background is in exhibition design and museum collections. She has also developed public programs for community museums such the Arkell Museum in Central New York and for the Chicago arts nonprofit Green Star Movement. Rosa has enjoyed planning exhibitions on women’s suffrage in New York State and about the Boilermaker Road Race in Utica, NY.
A Chicago native, Rosa also calls Germany home. Since growing up bilingual in the U.S. and Germany, Rosa's passion for German culture and immigrant history has only grown. Rosa is committed to tapping the rich cultural life of Chicago and telling our shared stories in an engaging museum setting.
