Register for Advanced Classes
The DANK Haus welcomes adults with all German language proficiency to learn or improve their German language skills as well as making multicultural friends in a German speaking environment. Our Fall Semester classes are 16 sessions long and meet either on Wednesday evening (6:30-8:45pm) or Saturday morning (9:30-11:45am).
Proficient I
Congratulations, you are now a proficient German speaker!
Students in Proficient I are already independent German speakers who would like to increase their German fluency to express ideas fluently and spontaneously. They will learn to communicate flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. This class will lead the students in a structured and supported manner to understand a wide range of demanding, longer clauses and implicit meaning in texts and produce detailed texts on complex subjects.
Proficient II
Congratulations, you have mastered German!
Students in Proficient II will be able to understand practically everything. Students will learn to express themselves with high fluency, precision and with ease. They can also summarize and understand information from different spoken and written resources while recognizing nuances of meaning in more complex topics. They will learn to reconstruct arguments and accounts in a coherent notion while logically recounting reasons and explanations.

Placement Tests
Are you joining us with previous learning German experience or are you a continuing student but not sure whether moving on to the next level is right for you? Please take our placement tests to find the class level that fits your needs best. Begin with Elementary German I and move on to the next test as you score 80% and more. We recommend to register for the class level of the test in which you achieved less than 80%.
